Gin is a distilled spirit that is normally made from grain and flavored with botanicals. There are no rules or laws for gin as to which botanicals must be included but it is not gin if there are no juniper berries.

After juniper, gin tends to be flavored with botanical/herbal, spice, floral or fruit-flavors or often a combination of all of these.

It is most commonly consumed when mixed with tonic water with ice and a slice of lemon or lime.

But of course, this is only the start of the story.
