Distillery Botanica
Distillery Botanica, an esteemed distillery known for its global recognition, has recently unveiled a new cellar door and botanical gardens. Located in the sunny suburb of Erina on the central coast of New South Wales, this distillery aims to celebrate the art of gin-making and provide educational experiences for customers. Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of gin-distilling, drinking, and cocktail-making all in one convenient location.
Distillery Botanica has a strong reputation in producing exceptional liqueurs. Since its establishment in 2007, they have gained acclaim for their renowned Moore’s Dry Gin, which became the first Australian gin to win a Gold medal at the prestigious London International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC).
The newly unveiled cellar door is a tribute to this spirit and took nearly two years to complete. Upon entering, visitors will be greeted by an impressive 2400 litre copper still, standing at a towering height of 4 meters. This still serves as the centerpiece of Distiller Phillip Moore’s craft and is specifically designed for producing all of Moore’s gins.
Outside, Distillery Botanica boasts a magnificent botanical garden spanning 760 square meters. Inspired by the walled citrus gardens of Spain and Persia, this oasis features a martini glass-shaped fountain at the top, surrounded by citrus fruits and garden beds filled with the botanicals used in Distillery Botanica’s drinks.
To enhance the visitor experience, the distillery now offers a range of new experiences. Guests can participate in a gin-distilling workshop, where they have the opportunity to create their own personalized gin by selecting botanicals from the garden, filtering their mix, designing and printing their label, and finally enjoying a refreshing G&T with their creation.
Alternatively, visitors can opt for an in-depth guided tour led by a knowledgeable Distillery Botanica team member. This tour includes a walk through the garden’s unique plants, followed by an exploration of the distillery room and its intricate processes.
For those interested in a tasting experience, the distillery offers the full range of products for just $5, including six gins, two liqueurs, vodka, and the new Terrigal rum.
Embark on a worthwhile journey to Distillery Botanica and immerse yourself in the world of gin.
