Puss and Mew Distillery
Puss and Mew Distillery located in Melbourne’s East, Puss & Mew is a boutique gin distillery, handcrafting small-batch, artisanal gin with a distinctive spirit.
We know you are probably curious about the genesis of their name? It harks back to an enterprising gin-slinger from the 18th Century who, to sidestep liquor licensing rules, created the world’s first vending machine. Some call him a crook but this team call him a bloody genius!
You can find Puss and Mew in an old factory in the heart of Nunawading just off Maroondah Hwy. The environment that has been created is an extremally warm and inviting space that makes you feel welcome from the bar to the botanical wall it is a fantastic space.
Puss and Mew has a fantastic range of award winning gins from the industry standard signature Dry and Navy strength Gins to exciting gins like the Honey Coconut Gin and our favorite the Spiced Turkish Delight Gin.
The Spiced Turkish Delight Gin features rose petals which are vapour infused to collect rose water, the core ingredient of the traditional treat. Taking this to the next level of flavour Juniper has been combined with a complimentary group of botanicals, to provide a spiced warmth and an elegant finish.
Be sure to head into Puss and Mew Distillery with an appetite as their food is fabulous! Starting with their grazing plates featuring Fried Chicken Ribs, Bao Buns and Sweet Potato Fries just to name a few. Next it is onto my favorite food… Pizza, I would recommend the Prawn and Chorizo but if you have a crew to feed be sure to check out the cheese and charcuterie boards.
Like so many distilleries you can upgrade your visit by booking in for a gin masterclass. this masterclass is a next level experience than many as you be a true distiller using their individual Copper Alembic Stills which have imported from Portugal.
You will have access to the Botanical Wall to carefully design your bin to achieve your desired flavour profile. Using real botanicals in your personal still to create your unique spirit to take home in a 500ml bespoke bottle.
