Four Pillars Gin
Four Pillars Gin
This is where it all started for us, we have friends who live in Healesville and one fine day they suggested we meet at Four Pillars Gin for a drink. A tasting paddle and a few cocktails later we were hooked, walking out we had the first 3 bottles which become the start of our home collection.
It all started back in 2013 with three mates and one extraordinary copper still according to their website.
They named her Wilma (after Cameron’s beautiful late mother), and she has since been joined by Jude, Eileen and Beth. They moved into their current home in 2015 and in just six years from open, they were named the world’s leading gin producer by the IWSC in London in 2019.
The awards have been many for Four Pillars with multiple awards for the Rare Dry Gin, Navy Strength Gin, and the Spiced Negroni Gin. It does not end there with awards also for the barrel-aged gin’s and the Bloody Shiraz Gin picked up its first award in 2020.
If you are just looking to try some amazing gin you can do that here or you can sign up for a gin masterclass, a maker session, or even a cocktail masterclass. All of which can be booked on their website ahead of time and will take you deep into the world of all things gin.
Four Pillars have also undertaken a $6 million expansion which will include room for 250 people across new bar and events spaces, as well as a new German-designed still, a retail space and “a special sensory surprise” that the team says needs to be experienced to be believed.
Upgrades are expected to be completed in early 2022 and Four Pillars will remain open during construction.
If you are ever in the Yarra Valley you must make a stop to visit Four Pillars, you won’t be sorry you did.
