78 Degrees Distillery

78 Degrees Distillery was established in 2014 by Sacha La Forgia, a renowned winemaker. Following the completion of his degree, Sacha embarked on a remarkable journey, spanning across various esteemed wine-making regions around the world, where he worked for 13 vintages.

During his final stint in Frulia, Italy, Sacha had the opportunity to spend time at a Grappa distillery. It was there that he encountered a distiller who recognized his exceptional talent and passion. Encouraged by this encounter, Sacha decided to return to Australia and establish his own distillery.

The name “78°” holds a special significance as it represents the boiling point of alcohol, which is lower than that of water (100°). This magic number, 78°, allows them to distill our spirits. Notably, their Gin stands out from other distilleries as all of our botanicals are carefully extracted at the precise temperature of 78°.

In late 2018, 78 Degrees Distillery found its new home, sharing premises with distinguished entities such as Mismatch Brewing Co, Thce Hills Cider Company, Vinteloper, and Ashton Valley Fresh.

The Lot 100 site now accommodates our state-of-the-art distillery and restaurant, offering ample space for expansion and utilisation of the surrounding land.
